Finding the right therapist is kinda like finding the right pair of jeans—it needs to be a good fit, feel comfortable, and work for you. Here’s what to keep in mind:
Know what you’re looking for – Think about what you want to get out of therapy. Are you working through anxiety? Healing from a breakup? Figuring out life after a big change? Finding a therapist who specializes in what you’re going through can make a big difference.
Make sure they’re easy to talk to – Therapy works best when you feel comfortable being real. You want someone who feels approachable, supportive, and like a good match for your personality.
Check out their bio – Most therapists have a little “about me” section online where you can see their training, specialties, and overall vibe. Reading this can give you an idea of whether they might be a good fit for you before you even reach out.
At the end of the day, therapy is your space, and you deserve to feel comfortable and supported.
Your first therapy session is kinda like a “getting to know you” chat—no pressure, no judgment, just a chance to talk about what’s bringing you in and how we can work together. We’ll go over your history, what you’re hoping to get out of therapy, and what the process will look like. We’ll also cover the basics—things like privacy, confidentiality, and office policies—so you know exactly what to expect.
Most importantly, this session is a chance for you to see if you feel comfortable. Therapy works best when you vibe with your therapist, so it’s totally normal to take 2-3 sessions to see if it’s a good fit. And if for any reason it doesn’t feel right, no worries! I can always help connect you with someone who might be a better match. My goal is for you to get the support you need—no matter what that looks like.
I get it—figuring out insurance and payment can be so confusing. The good news? I’ve got options to make it easier for you!
I’m in-network with most major insurance plans (Aetna, UHC, Cigna, and BCBS) using Headway and Alma for billing.
If you're paying out of pocket, sessions are $120 each—no surprises, no hidden fees.
If you’re unsure about coverage or have any questions, just reach out! I’m happy to help you figure it out so you can focus on you, not the paperwork.
Life happens, and I totally get it! If you need to cancel or reschedule, just give me at least 24 hours’ notice so I can open that spot for someone else. If you cancel last minute or don’t show up, you may be charged the full session fee—either the private pay rate or what your insurance covers (depending on your situation).
Why the fee? When I set aside time for you, that spot is yours, and if you don’t make it, I can’t offer it to someone else who might really need it. So, if something comes up, just reach out as soon as possible, and we’ll figure it out!
